Farm Girl Ridge

Teemie Eschenburg is quite literally growing her business! You'll find Teemie’s farm fresh studio, Farm Girl Ridge (formerly Teemie's Blooms), located just north of Almont, MI on the edge of the few remaining family dairy farms in Lapeer County. Follow the winding dirt road to discover the herb & flower side of Eschenburg Farms, the family farm established in 1950.

'In season' flowers are gathered from her gardens, along with nearby Full Bloom Farm and other local suppliers, for verdant original bouquets. With Teemie’s unique creative style for fresh cut designs and her team of floral designers, brides are delighted with the garden-style weddings arranged from the freshest of blooms possible. Large events are their specialty.

Along with the fresh flowers and potted herbs she nurtures, Teemie teaches and creates embellished 'one of a kind' artworks throughout the winter months, delighting her customers with the mixed media arts that combine her love of ribbons, vintage goods and garden finds. Peddling vintage laces and ribbons since 1996 began this creative, bliss-filled journey for Teemie. "My greatest pleasure is to see the inspiration light up in others. Farm Girl Ridge is about rediscovering the art of taking pleasure in the simple things in life."
Growth is everywhere: Her newly built barn/shop/studio will soon be opening, featuring seasonal herbal wreaths, kitchen herb gardens, and hand tied bouquets, along with offerings of creative workshops throughout the winter months. Spring 2008 will bring a U- Pick Herbs & Flowers patch.

Teemie explains her philosophy: " It’s been my goal to have a farm-based business, offering my customers a slice of our lifestyle served up in the freshest of ways possible. As a farmer it’s normal to have your hands in many projects simultaneously, creating from nature’s best offerings." And this gal certainly has her hands full of many creative pursuits!

Her most powerful business step? "Creating my business plan has been indispensable, and setting daily & monthly goals is imperative. Revisiting & revising the business plan often has kept my plan moving forward despite all obstacles. Having faith in God and discovering His plan for my life has not been easy, but well worth the blessings it brings."

On Women Take Wing!, she says, " I’ve been a part of this network of women since the beginning (since Victoria magazine's 'Business of Bliss' online community began nearly ten years ago). They help me to be true to myself, guide me in my new adventures, hold me to be accountable, inspire me to press forward and not give up." Teemie is truly an absolute inspiration herself, sowing seeds of kindness, creativity, faith, and diligence with every step in her blossoming journey.
